The power of alpine water

Recharge your batteries between thundering waterfalls & crystal-clear mountain lakes in Osttirol

You can feel its power, the playful lightness, breathe in its freshness and immerse yourself in it as if in velvet: Osttirol's water is one of the treasures of our region. Roaring waterfalls plunge into the depths, babbling mountain streams accompany you on your hike, in the morning Lake Tristach at the foot of the Lienzer Dolomites invites you to jump into the clear, intense green of its waters. And the Isel : glacier-blue, it rushes and swirls through the valley floor. The last unobstructed glacial river in the Alps

The abundance of water crowns the Queen of Osttirol . You can drink from every stream, every mountain lake casts its spell on the observer. And there are quite a few locals who immerse themselves completely in "their place" every day until late in the fall. What is so good for the body and soul can be scientifically proven: Dr. Arnulf Hartl, Head of the Institute for Ecomedicine at Paracelsus Medical University Salzburg, has proven the power of Alpine water with extensive, independent studies: "The incredibly high water quality of the Alpine region is one of its great specifications. Just visiting waterfalls reduces symptoms of stress and burnout, as clinical studies by the Nationalpark Hohe Tauern have shown."

And speaking of "your own place": Of course, destinations such as the Umbal Falls, Frauenbach Waterfall, Celar Waterfall in Kristeinertal or Bödensee with the Neue Reichenberger Hütte are popular, but never overcrowded. And if you want your very own place to dive in and out, to switch off and pause for a moment, you don't even have to look far: There are around 365 mountain lakes in Osttirol. One more beautiful than the next. And so healthy.
