Mountain railroads St. Jakob in Defereggental

Hiking in the Defereggental is a very special experience. In the midst of an impressive mountain world, you can really forget everyday life! In summer, the cable car and chairlift take you up to over 2.300 m above sea level. This is the ideal starting point for many easy to moderately difficult hikes up to mountain peaks at over 2.900 m.

There is also a new excursion destination for the whole family at the Ochsenlacke near the Mooseralm: The guardians of the mountain water treasures - 5 oversized play equipment. There is also a large viewing platform right on the ridge to the small Leppleskofel. It represents the ark in which the guardians of the mountain water tre asures were stranded at the Ochsenlacke. The viewing platform offers a spectacular view of the Deferegger mountains and numerous three-thousand-metre peaks!
